Brussels has an extensive entertainment district around CITYHALL and the exchange market . It is like the Marais neighbourhood in Paris.
Only from the 80ties the district has attracted public.
The oldest Bars are de Belgica , Le soleil en de Plattesteen.. The activities are mainly in the weekends and late hours.
The area can be regarded as dangerous near the Annessenplein.
Major streets are:.Marché Au Charbon , Kolenmarkt , Rue des Pierres, Steenstraat , Botermarkt .
Many bars open and close. This makes a correct list sometimes difficult.

The street VAN SCHOONHOVENSTRAAT is located close to central station and is on the edge of the old entertainment district.
In top years were here many bars( +20). Now there are about 6 bars remained.
The audience is both young and old.
The dark bars have moved into other streets away.
Most bars are open on weekdays and weekends.
Most known club is red and blue disco , Saturday men-only.
